Obituary of Frances Ruth Pogson

Frances Ruth Pogson, of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2008 at the age of 94 years. Frances was born in Saskatoon, SK on September 12, 1913. She enjoyed a career as a homemaker and chef. Frances had a passion for playing shuffle board, bowling and cards. She especially loved to play cribbage with her family and friends. Frances was an avid Canadian football fan, and was a loyal Saskatchewan Roughrider supporter. For many years Frances and Percy owned and trained thoroughbred horses. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Frances is survived by her loving sons and daughter-in-law Gerry and Carol Pogson, of Surrey, BC and John Pogson of Calgary, AB; daughters, Mona Clarke, of Victoria, BC and Delores Lehr, of Bothel, WA; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Frances was predeceased by husband Percy, her parents Kirk and Mabel Fletcher, son Bill Pogson, and sisters Miriam Fletcher and Grace Wittig.
