Obituary of Roberta Arlene Knight
With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Roberta Arlene Knight of Calgary on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 71 years, while vacationing in Maui.
Roberta was born in Vancouver, BC grew up in Saskatchewan and took her nursing training in Winnipeg, MB. Roberta and Jim raised their family in Calgary, AB where they spent many happy years. Roberta enjoyed public speaking, was an active member of Toastmasters for many years, enjoyed reading and playing bridge , and was a member of CA Wives. Roberta and Jim had the opportunity to travel widely and were able to spend twelve winters at their condominium in Fountain Hills, AZ. Roberta bravely battled the degenerative disease Progressive Supranuclear Palsy for several years. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Roberta is survived by her husband Jim; son Brad (Shanta); daughter Heather; grandchildren Sean and Crystal Rampersaud. She is also survived by sister Gail (Garry) Paulson; brother-in-law Charlie (Doris) Knight; sisters-in-law Freda Broadbridge and Charlotte Knight; and several nieces and nephews. Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Bob and Margaret Heaps, brothers-in-law Bert Knight and Cyril Broadbridge.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle, N.W.) on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice.
