Obituary of Dustin Streit

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved son Dustin at the age of 23 years. He fought through the years with all his heart until his heart couldn’t fight anymore and suddenly gave out on Tuesday February 19, 2008. He will be forever missed by his parents Dale and Kally, sister Nicole (Ryan) and brother Brendon. Dustin attended school in Bowness first at Bowcroft Elementary, then Thomas B. Riley Junior High and finally Bowness High School. Dustin was born with a congenital heart problem that we really tried our best to ignore. Although this meant many stays in hospital, Dustin spent his years learning to ski in the winter, play baseball in the summer and participating in all the activities of scouting in Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. He shared a love of the outdoors with his father and brother, taking the hunter training course and earning their FACs together so they could spend many hours hunting and fishing with friends. During high school Dustin worked after school at McDonalds and then Wal-Mart. He volunteered at the Ronald McDonald house with his mom where he spent his time answering the phones or indulging the soft spot he had for children by playing with any of them who were there. In the last couple of years he and his dad enjoyed volunteering with the Bowness Lions Club, working casinos or flipping burgers and pancakes. Dustin is survived by his grandparents Vernice Franklin, Eileen Streit and Lester and Yvonne Aldrich; uncles and aunts Garth and Nene Aldrich, Grant Aldrich and Carrie Kent, Marilyn and Lamont Rowles and Ron Streit. He is also survived by cousins Aimee and Ashley Rowles and Kara Lee Kent Aldrich (who always brought a smile to his face and some joy in his life no matter how sick he was). He is also survived by his best friend and protector Brad and his newer best friends Rahim and Grace. His grandpa’s Andrew Streit and Jim Franklin both predeceased him in 2001. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle, N.W.) on Saturday February 23, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
