Obituary of Big Plume

Chiefy Stanley George Big Plume of Tsuu T’ina Nation, Alberta, was called home to join his beloved brothers William and Clinton on Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Edmonton at the age of 39 years. Chiefy was born, raised and a proud member of the Tsuu Tina Nation. During his short life here he accomplished and fulfilled many goals including teaching himself guitar at the age of 14. He enlightened many people with his gift of voice and guitar, travelling many miles to share his music with the Red Wood Band and Buffalo Avenue Band. Known for his ability to be an extremely hard worker, Chiefy owned and operated his own heavy equipment business. He always embraced his culture and respected his elders. Chiefy could always be relied upon whenever family or friends were in a time of need. He had a passion for cooking, hunting, landscaping and golf. Chiefy never missed an opportunity to get into his truck and head straight for the Stoney Flats where he would go off-roading through the fields which was one of his most favourite past times. As another way to bring his family and friends together, Chiefy lived to accomplished his goal of making a pond for fishing. Chiefy is survived by his loving wife Sheryl of eleven years and their cherished children Shelby, Montana Fancy Glory, Stanley Jr, Sterlen Bow, Jorjia Rae and Lyndsy Jo; His loving parents Clifford and Vanora; big brother Chief Sanford Big Plume and his wife Brenda; sisters Kimberly (Lional) Wildman, Lillian and Steve, Nora and Mike; sister-in-law Trudy Big Plume, 2 adopted grandchildren Joden and Jazlyn, 18 nephews and 18 nieces; adopted Mother Rose Crane, adopted brother Buddy Big Crow, Richard Bish, Leon Montour, Vinnie Crowchild as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by brothers William and Clinton; grandparents George and Hilda Big Crow, Stanley and Louise Big Plume, Dick and Lucy Big Plume. He also goes home to join his 2 adopted brothers Mark Crane and Harry Dodginghorse; special friend Ricky Whitney along with numerous relatives and friends. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Chiefy Big Plume and Sheryl (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Wednesday February 20, 2008 commencing at 7:00 p.m. Traditional Servcies will be held the morning of February 21, 2008. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 21, 2008 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Big Plume Cemetery, Tsuu Tina Nation.
