Obituary of Dorothy Iris Hunter

Dorothy Iris Hunter, of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday February 11, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Dorothy was born in Grenfell, SK, the oldest of three daughters of Constance and Victor Harrison. She pursued a career in accounting and worked in a variety of banks and real estate agencies. She greatly enjoyed volunteering for the Food Bank and the women’s auxiliary of St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Richmond, BC. Dorothy loved playing bridge and going out for lunch with friends. She was the ultimate ‘people’ person. Nothing made her happier then having guests in her home and visiting with family and friends. Dorothy leaves to mourn two sisters, Lois (Geoff) and Ruth (George); three sons, Alan (Karen), Doug (Maria) and Gerald (Mira); grandchildren Jeffrey and Lisa; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Jeffrey, her husband of fifty-two years and their son Murray. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Michaels and All Angels Church in Grenfell, SK at a later date. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at the Dr. Vernon Fanning Center, unit two west for their expert care and attention to Dorothy in her last months.
