Obituary of William Malin

Bill Malin beloved husband of Alice of Calgary, passed away with his loving family by his side on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the age of 70. He was born in Calgary, AB on June 13, 1937. Bill attended elementary school at Grand Trunk, middle school at Hillhurst, and high school at Crescent Heights. He was employed by the City of Calgary for 37 years, retiring in 1992 as Supervisor of District Eight Streets. Bill grew up in West Hillhurst, where he also chose to raise his family. He was a dedicated member of the community, volunteering many hours to the sports programs. One of Bill’s greatest pleasures through out his life was camping with his family and many friends. Bill will be greatly missed by his loving wife Alice Malin, and their four children Gary (Toni Mastrofrancesco), Valerie (Russell Murphy), Sandra (Cameron Longeway), Rob (Wendy Schindeler), and his Grandchildren, Chantal and Joseph Murphy, Jana and Lucas Malin, Samantha and Devin Longeway, Maija and Callie Malin. Bill is survived by his two sisters Shirley (Frank Lammerth) and Darlene (Tom Campbell), his sisters-in-law, Marny and Eileen and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents, his sister Joyce Miller and his brothers Don and Les. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Dan Stevenot officiating.
