Obituary of William Lenz
William (Bill) Robert Lenz, beloved husband of Glenda Lenz of Calgary, passed away with his wife by his side on Saturday, February 9, 2008 after a prolonged battle with renal disease and dialysis complications. He was 61 years old and married to Glenda for 42 years.
Prior to his long-term illness, Bill was employed as a draftsman with TransAlta Utilities, and enjoyed hiking, camping, fishing, building model airplanes, and oil painting. In his energetic years, Bill was a proactive community member, serving as a scout leader with 127th Huntington Hills Troup, an Uncle-at-Large, and a current, long-standing member of Centre Street Church.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Steve & Candace; Michael & Caroline, and his daughter, Tammy. He has five grandchildren, Jessica, Megan, Cody, Krissy and Courtney. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Eric and Florence Lenz; and his mother-in-law, Margaret Jean Moore, all of Calgary.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at Centre Street Church – Main Campus (3900 2nd Street NE) in the Chapel on February 19th, 2008 at 1:00 P.M., officiated by Rev. Dr. Henry Schorr. The family wishes to thank Dr. Samuel Schorr; Dr. Leanne Birkett; Mona Chorney, RN; all the staff of Unit 27 and 37 (FMC); The Home Hemodialysis Training Centre; and many caregivers for their faithfulness in extending Bill’s quality of life these many years.
