Obituary of Kenneth Miller

Kenneth Miller of Calgary, passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008 at the age of 71. Ken lived his life to the fullest and was passionate about everything he did (“I Love My Job!”). His positive attitude was contagious. He treated all he knew with dignity and respect, and received the same in return. He loved his music and played clarinet in two bands (Springbank & View Point RV Park, Mesa, AZ). Ken was a musician with the Navy Reserve Band as well as a Sergeant for three years with The Lord Strathcona Horse Army Band. His other loves included flying his own plane, horses, his Printing Business and the Anglemont Estates development on the Shuswap Lake in B.C. Along with his varied business ventures, he was instrumental in helping others succeed along with him. He was a “stand up” kind of guy and his word was golden. Most of all, he loved, cared and provided for his family and he was so proud of us all. Dad wanted us to “grieve for a short time and then carry on with your lives.” He said he “had a good ride!” Ken is survived by Kathie, his beloved wife of 51 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Drinda (Robert) Rainville; son, Donald; as well as his favourite and beloved grandchildren, Desirae and Darla Rainville, and Joseph and Jacob Miller. Ken is survived as well by his siblings, Gerald Miller, Doreen Gouthreau, Harold (Buck) Miller, Marcia (Walter) Golemblaski, Dean (Lorraine) Miller; along with numerous nieces, nephews & friends far & wide. He was predeceased by his son, Daryl Kenneth Miller on September 11, 1982; as well as his parents, Joseph and Anne Miller; brothers, Dale, Jim, Donald, Ronald, Jack; and sister Marilyn. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Friday February 15, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
