Obituary of Stephen Keddie

Stephen Keddie beloved husband of Evelyn (Ev) Keddie of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 10, 2008, after a short battle with Leukemia, at the age of 69 years. Stephen was born and raised in Flin Flon, MB and returned there each summer to enjoy the lake and the family cottage at Denare Beach, SK. Stephen retired from the Calgary Board of Education in 1998, after serving many years in various jobs, finally as principal of the Cluster Schools, Rundle Elementary and Colonel J Fred Scott Elementary. Stephen enjoyed reading, history and archaeology, collecting “everything”, helping Ev with her rock and alpine garden and “puttering” at the cottage. He had so much pride in both Corinne’s and Gwen’s accomplishments that he never hesitated to brag about them. He brought happiness, great debates and many smiles to those who knew him, and will be missed dearly. Besides his loving wife of forty-five years, left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Corinne (Bruce Beck) and Gwen (Jason Hart) and their beloved children Alexandra and Brady Stephen Hart (who adored their Bompa). He is also survived by sister Diane (Harvey Fleming) of Denare Beach, brothers David (Betsy) of Winnipeg and Andrew (Susan Berry) of Edmonton and nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Anglican Church (2828 – 19th Street N.W.) Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
