Obituary of Van de Pol

Johannes (John) C. Van de Pol, beloved husband of Augusta, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2008 after a short battle with cancer at the age of 81 years. John was born on February 16, 1926 in Tilburg, Holland. John and Augusta immigrated to Winnipeg in 1954 and then moved to Calgary with their young family in 1961. John enjoyed a long career with Canadian Pacific Railways until his retirement in 1984. A rewarding retirement included travel and socializing with friends. John is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Augusta; his daughter Fran (Ralph) Karch and their children, Patti and Bob; his sons, John (Peggy) and Robert (Linda); and his grandchildren, Kayley, Sean and Corissa. John is also survived by numerous relatives in Holland, including his sister Anne Blaawgeers. John was predeceased by his son Vincent in 1993.
