Obituary of James Barr

James, of Carstairs, was born in Ayr, Scotland, came to Canada in 1955 and died at the Southwood Hospice in Calgary after a two year brave and patient confrontation with lung and brain cancer. Fly-fisherman, bird-watcher, dog lover, husband of Pat for forty-seven years, father of Andrew (Janet), Ian (Cindy), Alison (Dale Howard) and grandpa of Sydney, Matthew, Rachel, Olivia and Hannah. Predeceased by a brother and sister in Scotland, survived by one sister, Mary Simon, a sister-in-law, Margaret Barr in Ayr and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at the Half-Century, Osler Street, Carstairs, AB (past the Post Office on the opposite side) on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held.
