Obituary of Norma Frances Rousseau

Norma Frances Rousseau passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Norma will be lovingly remembered by Fred, her husband of fifty-five years; her son John; four daughters and two sons-in-law Joan, Julie, Jennifer (Peter) Lubey and Jane (Joe) Greene and many grandchildren. Norma Rousseau was born in Elgin, MB on November 4, 1929 and was educated at United College and the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing. She began her nursing career as night supervisor at Winnipeg General Psychiatric hospital and then joined TCA (Air Canada) as a flight nurse. Norma and Fred married in 1953 and throughout the years lived in Pine Falls, Winnipeg, Victoria, Vancouver and Calgary. In 1975 Norma joined Student Health Services at the University of Calgary. Students and staff at the University enjoyed Norma’s professional, caring approach and wonderful sense of humour for over twenty years. Upon her retirement Norma was an active volunteer at the Bow View Nursing Home and St. Bernard Church for many years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
