Obituary of Nora Copeland
Nora Copeland of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the age of 87 years.
Nora was born in Southwaite Carlisle, England. She was very active in her retirement years as a member of the Bowcliffe Monday Dance Group, Southside Seniors, Bowness Seniors and the Golden Age Conversation Club.
Nora leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memory, her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Irvin Engelke and son and daughter-in-law, Graime and Leslie Haynes. She was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, Kristine (Jared), Joanne (Jeffrey), Elise (Michael), Emily, Peter, Paula, Elana, Malcolm and Nevin and to her nine great-grandchildren. Nora will be remembered by Ernie Copeland’s family, stepdaughters, Wendy and Bev, stepson John and their families. In the UK Nora leaves to mourn her loss, her sister Mary; sister-in-law Millie; special nieces and nephews. Nora also leaves her extended family in Calgary, Christine and Keith and Monika and Art and first husband Ronald Hoyle. She was predeceased by her second husband, Ernest H. Copeland in 1993; companion Alex Bulatovic and siblings, Alec, John, Jean and Betty.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to The Alzheimer Society of Calgary, Suite 201, 222 – 58th Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3, Telephone: (403)290-0110, www.alzheimercalgary.com.
