Obituary of Muriel Gerhart
Muriel Gerhart of Calgary, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008 at the age of 89 years.
She was born in Toronto and raised in Buffalo. As a young girl she moved back to Toronto and lived most of the rest of her life in southern Ontario. After Toronto, there was Clarkson in southwest Mississauga and then Parry Sound. In her last years, when her ability to care for herself diminished, she moved to Calgary to be near her children.
Muriel was a wonderful singer and that showed in everything she did. Whether she was actually singing, on stage, in a recital or in church, or looking after a sibling or an aged parent, making a place for her own family to grow, running a business, contributing to her community, or dealing with the limitations that old age finally brought to her, she found the music and sang it into whatever came her way. We will miss her so much, but her music stays with us.
Muriel is survived by daughter and son-in-law Rhonde and Richard LeSueur, and their two children Jamie and Philip of Calgary; by son and daughter-in-law Paul and Mary Ann and their two children Meghan and David of Lethbridge; and by her brother Bernard Hadley of Parry Sound, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Gene, brothers Stan and Ray, father Albert and mother Mabel.
A Private Family Memorial will be held at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com
