Obituary of Myo Ja Shon

Helen (Myo Ja) Shon of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, at the age of 63 years. Helen was a devoted mother of two sons, Steven (Sang Wook) and John (Sang Hoon) and a caring mother-in-law of Julia and Yumiko. She was married to John (Do Young) Shon in 1970 and after living in Seoul, Korea for many years, she and her family moved to Edmonton, AB in 1989. A few years later, she and her husband moved to Rocky Mountain House to start a business. Helen was predeceased by her husband in 2000; she was deep in sadness but she kept working hard at the Rocky Mini Mart, holding his memory in her heart. Her considerate and warm-hearted personality made her many friends wherever she was and she never forgot to appreciate to everyone who spent time with her. Helen was a religious Roman Catholic. Praying everyday and going to church gave her peace and helped her three year fight with cancer. Her whole life was devoted to her family to give them comfort, make them laugh and lead two sons along the right path. She will be forever remembered by everyone whose life shared with her kindness.
