Obituary of Arthur Dickson

Arthur “Art” Edgar Dickson, beloved husband of Anne Dickson of Calgary passed away suddenly in his sleep on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the age of 83 years. Art was born in Moose Jaw, SK where he spent the first thirty-three years of his life. To anyone who asked, he was very proud to say he was born and raised in Moose Jaw. On November 24, 1942 Art started his service with the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the H.M.C.S. Antigonish. After his three years of overseas service Art returned to Moose Jaw and began his career with, then, BA Oil/Gulf Oil. He moved from Moose Jaw to Toronto and finally to Calgary. During his time in Calgary Art enjoyed time spent at Triwood Community either coaching or volunteering. After retiring, Art enjoyed golf, slow pitch, senior speed skating and other activities with fellow seniors. Art is survived by Anne, his wife of fifty-two years; two sons, Jay of Vancouver and Brent (Helen) of Calgary; grandchildren, Brandin Mills of Libby, MT and Derek and Nicole Wasylenko of Calgary. He is also survived by his sister Jean Willison (Hal), brother-in-law Bob Marsh, niece Patricia Buckley and nephews Gary Willison (Barbara), David Marsh (Sheena), Doug Marsh (Carolyn), Paul Marsh (Virginia), Tracey Smith, Dale Smith, Rick Smith (Christine) and many great-nieces and -nephews. Art was predeceased by his father Albert, his mother Margaret, his sister Edith Marsh and his son Rennie.
