Obituary of Mildred Livina Hunter

Millie Hunter of Calgary passed away after a lengthy and courageous struggle with Crohns and Kidney Disease at the age of 81 years on Friday, January 25, 2008. Millie was born in Rockglen, SK to Augusta and Henry Anderson. She is survived by Bill Hunter Sr., her children Bill Hunter Jr. (Margie Kipling), Heather Meadows (Terry Rossi), Colleen Weyman (Wayne), Brenda Festa (Sandy); grandchildren Mark, Wendy, Shawn, Natasha, Cassie and Tony; great-grandchild Gio; brothers Brad (Jean), Vernal, Wayne Anderson; sisters Arleen Bronson (Vic) and Wilma Gray (Bill). She is predeceased by daughter Shawn Hunter and siblings Mervyn, Fay, Gordon Anderson and Dorothy Brown. Millie was a loving and devoted mother who had a keen sense of humour and a passion for playing bridge. She worked for many years as a social worker and retired as a supervisor in the Calgary Crisis Unit, was a chairperson for human rights, an active member of her church, and a member of the CWL for many years. She was very involved in her community, volunteering countless hours with various organizations.
