Obituary of Gloria Stride

Gloria Stride, beloved wife of Jerry Stride of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home, with Jerry and Kelly by her side, on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the age of 78 years. Gloria was an active member of St. David’s United Church, the Evergreen Seniors Hiking Club, the Shouldice Senior Skaters and also worked as a volunteer for the Interfaith Food Bank for over twenty years. She and Jerry enjoyed spending summers at their cottage at Wabamun Lake and also enjoyed world wide travel, making many friends along the way. Gloria is lovingly remembered by Jerry, her husband of fifty-five years; two sons, Kelly (life partner Tom Arnold) of Calgary and Jay (Janice) of Nova Scotia and their children, Morgan and Emily. She is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Sohnle of Edmonton and Alma Chase of Sherwood Park; one brother, Emil Sohnle of Edmonton and several nieces and nephews.
