Obituary of Carmine Cusano

Carmine Cusano beloved husband of Maria Teresa Cusano of Calgary passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the age of 96 years. Carmine was born February 21, 1911 in Sepino, Campobasso, Italy. He served in Africa and Yugoslavia during WWII. Carmine immigrated to Canada in 1950 and resided in Montreal for two years prior to moving to Calgary in 1953. He worked for CP Rail until retiring in 1976. Carmine was a devoted family man who enjoyed his relatives and friends. He was an avid gardener and orchardist spending the summers for the past thirty years near Vernon, BC. Carmine and Maria Teresa celebrated their seventieth wedding anniversary on December 27, 2007. Besides his loving wife Maria Teresa, Carmine is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law Cristina and Domenico Lisella, son and daughter-in-law Luigi A. and Janet Cusano, four grandchildren; Rita F. Lisella, Joseph (Melody) Lisella, Teresa M. Cusano, Melina A. Cusano, one great-granddaughter Carmen Lisella. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Carmine was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Rita Ellen (West) Cusano, two brothers and two sisters; Nicola, Cristino, Pasqualina and Filomena. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (640 – 19th Avenue N.W.) on Friday, January 18, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.
