Obituary of Teresa Terry Severight

Teresa “Terry” Severight passed away in her home on the Tsuu T’ina Reserve on Friday, January 11, 2008 at the age of 54 years. In youth, Terry was a fierce athlete, curious scholar, and a loyal friend. Her family, people, and Tsuu T’ina Culture were all important to her, and so she built her life around a lifelong commitment to the betterment of her community and those she took as her own. Terry will be remembered most for her brave spirit, as well as her kind, generous and ever loving nature. Terry is survived by two sons, Beric and Caleb Manywounds; her mother Muriel Manywounds; brother Peter Manywounds and his children, Kristol (Darrell), Lance (Linda), Brett, Christopher and Melissa Dawn; brother Dean Manywounds (Holly) and his children Keshia (Kenny), Teddy, and Zachary (Tressa); nieces, Kelita (Larry Jr.) Manywounds and Lily Manywounds; nephew Kerry Manywounds; brother-in-law Jake Quewezance; grandchildren Elias, Marcus and Lesley Rose; and by many extended family members. Terry was predeceased by her sister Lesley Ann Manywounds, her son Jody Miles Severight and by her father Peter Francis Manywounds. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Muriel Manywounds (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the residence of Muriel Manywounds on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery (Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB).
