Ann McGillivray

Obituary of Ann McGillivray

It is with great sadness that the family of Ann McGillivray announce her passing in Calgary at the age of 86 years. Born in Stockton-on-Tees, England, Ann travelled to Canada as a war bride in 1946, spending all of her married life in Peace River. She was known for her humour, enthusiastic community spirit and love of curling but her proudest achievement was being a mother to her five children. Mom will live on in the hearts of Ed (Marg) McGillivray, Carol Johnson (James Costen), Kathy (Dave) Needham, all of Calgary, Diane (Roy) Wiebe of Stony Plain, and Terry (Carol) McGillivray of Salmon Arm, BC, as well as twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Ed in 1997. This summer she will be brought home to Peace River to rest with Dad as well as Nana Mary and Grandpa Napoleon McGillivray. Service details to follow.
