Obituary of Dorene Anne MacKenzie

Dorene Anne MacKenzie, of Calgary, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2008 at the age of 69 years. Dorene was born in High River, AB on December 5, 1938. She worked as a secretary for many years in administrative areas and Dorene volunteered with Calgary Quest Childrens Society. She enjoyed knitting and traveling. Dorene will always be remembered for her love of dancing and her infectious laugh. She especially loved her family and to spend time in their company, most of all her precious four grandchildren. Dorene is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl Somerville, Sallie Leibel and Marnie and Ralph Marfels all of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Ryan, Christa, Erika and Alyssa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Ron Ross and Arlene and Mike Derbowka; by her niece and three nephews; and by her friends and extended family. Dorene was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Opal Johnson, and by her son-in-law Steve Leibel. A Celebration Of Dorene’s Life will be held at McInnis and Holloway’s Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive South West) on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m..
