Obituary of Marilyn Louise Holt

Marilyn Louise Holt, beloved wife of William Holt of Calgary, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Sarcee Hospice on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the age of 69 years. Marilyn was born in Standard AB, and grew up on the family farm in the Hussar area, she graduated in 1956, from St. Mary’s High School in Calgary. Marilyn’s great joy in life was her family. She inspired all of us with endless optimism, a guiding hand, and enduring loyalty. As a long time volunteer, with various organizations, and as the past Director of Birthright Calgary, Marilyn was always ready to share her time and compassion with those in need. She will be cherished forever in all of our hearts. Besides her beloved husband William of forty-nine years Marilyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Susanne and Rob Pedersen, son and daughter-in-law Greg and Heather Holt, daughter Sherri Holt, son Geoff Holt, and by nine grandchildren, Kyrsten, Michael, Derek, Kasia, Shirai, Jessalyn, Zevan, Kyrissa, Trinity. Marilyn is also survived by her mother Maggie Gregory, and seven brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her father Rex and sister Francis. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street South West) on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.) on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
