Obituary of Rhea McKechney
Rhea McKechney of Calgary passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at the age of 94.
Rhea McKechney was born in 1913 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and grew up on a farm in the neighboring area. She attended normal school and taught in a one room schoolhouse before marrying John L. McKechney in 1934. They spent most of their married life in Saskatoon where they raised their two daughters. She busied herself with volunteer work and enjoyed bridge and book clubs. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1982, and moved to Calgary in 1997 to be closer to her family. She continued to enjoy her bridge and new friends at Canyon Meadows and The Fountains of Mission Retirement Homes.
Rhea is survived by her daughters Phyllis Knight and Roberta McKechney and her sister Marjorie Aldcorn. She was predeceased by her husband John L. McKechney and son-in-law Gary Knight.
