Obituary of Mary Flaig

The world today has lost a great lady. Our much beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Saturday December 29, 2007 at the age of 88. She fought her very best to stay with us, however God needed another angel, and he is getting the very best. Mary was kind, considerate and loving to all those who were blessed to know her. She was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan on September 20, 1919 to Stanley and Zena Pankewich. Mary made Calgary her permanent residence after marrying Albert Flaig on November 12, 1942, and he predeceased her in 1995 after fifty two years of marriage. Mary is survived by her sons Merv (Ruth), Ron (Janet), Don, four loving grandchildren; Eric, Jodi-Lee, Janelle and Travis (Allison) and three great-grandchildren; Matthew, Ben and Tianna. Mary is also survived by four sisters, Anne, Grace, Janet and Virginia, and a brother Mike. She is predeceased by four brothers, Joe, Frank, John and Edward and one sister Lily.
