Obituary of Milton Maurice McLean

Milton Maurice McLean passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the age of 54 years. Maurice was born on January 4, 1953, he was well known in the sport of Rodeo, and Hockey. He coached the Morley Tomahawks from 1992 to 2003. Maurice was a Tribal Council member for the Bearspaw Nation. Maurice is survived by his wife Verna; son Ryan; daughters, Glynis, Candace, and Jayda; he is also survived by his father Bill McLean; brothers, Rudy, Myles (Rebecca), and Garnett (Miranda); sisters, Madeline, Myra, Muriel, Laura (Louie), Germaine, Pam (Keon) Jolene (Hank), and Bernadine (Eli), Maurice is also survived by his aunties, Edna Simeon, Yvonne (David) Poucette, and Cassie Lefthand, as well as relatives from Hobbema, Saskatchewan, Crow Agency MT, Bighorn, and Eden Valley. Maurice was predeceased by his mother Caroline, daughter Karmela, brothers, Gerald, George, Eldon; sisters, Jolene, Marilyn; nephews, Emmett, Jeremy, Cody, Craig, nieces, Dorlisa, Noelle, maternal grandparents, Alex and Jessie LaBelle, paternal grandparents Chief Walking Baffalo George and Flora McLean; extended families Dixon, Kootenay, Twoyoungmen, Beaver, Abraham, Poucette, Labelle, Ear, Lefthand, Big Stoney, Simeon; also uncles, aunties, and numerous cousins. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Bill McLean on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at the residence of Verna McLean (Morley, AB). Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).
