Obituary of Araceli Bicomong Ramos

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Araceli Ramos of Calgary, on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the age of 85. Araceli was born in Laguna, Philippines and came to Canada in September of 1987. “Inay” as affectionately called by her loved ones, was an avid gardener and well known for her penchant for growing a wide variety of orchids. She grew practically everything in her yard and took pleasure in showing them to everyone. She had enormous pride in making her favourite sweets such as leche flan, macapuno and caramel candies. She was a devoted housewife and mother; gentle, kind, generous, compassionate and thoughtful. Araceli leaves behind her daughters; Evelyn Grey, Grace, son, Recaredo (Angie); granddaughters, Tricia (Michael), Cheryl (Charles), Sharleen; grandson Gabriel and fiancé Charishe; great-granddaughters Mira and Emma. She also leaves behind her sister Eden in the Philippines, brothers, Fidel (Virgie) in San Francisco, Nestor (Binay) in the Philippines and many nieces and nephews in the Philippines, California, New York and Toronto. She was predeceased by her husband, Sergio and son-in-law, Gerardo. Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation, Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday January 2, 2008 between 6:00 P.M. and 8:30 P.M. With a Vigil Mass at 7:30 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Thursday January 3, 2008 at 10:30 A.M.
