Obituary of Robert Cook
Robert (Bob) Cook beloved husband of Marion Cook of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2008.
Besides his beloved wife Marion, Bob is survived by daughter and son-in-law Lesley and Jim Garrison and by two granddaughters, Cleanne and Lindsay all of Sylvan Lake, AB. He will also be lovingly remembered by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ted and Mary of Edmonton, AB, Richard and Pat of Oceanside, CA and by Cecille of Calgary, AB and by several nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his daughter Carole in 1986 and by his brother Bill in 2004.
Bob was born in Smithers, BC. In 1947 he graduated from the University of British Columbia as an Electrical Engineer. During his years at the University he played the clarinet in the University band and he continued his appreciation of music throughout his life. Upon graduation he bought himself a set of golf clubs and took flying lessons. In 1961 Bob and Marion became members of the Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club and he continued his passion for golf up until recently. Bob particularly like the outdoors, hunting and fishing were particular favourite activities of his. He worked for Imperial Oil Research Lab for most of his career up and until his retirement.
