Obituary of Jeno Lechner

Jeno Lechner, beloved husband of the late Rita Lechner of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Jeno was born in Diosgyor, Hungary on July 9, 1921. He attended and went on to a career as a heavy duty mechanic. Jeno worked for the city of Calgary Transit for twenty-five years. He also took active part in the union and retired as a shop foreman. Jeno was a very handy person who never hesitated to help out a neighbour or friend. He loved to barbeque and took great pride in his garden and home. Jeno is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Anna and Gary Walke of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren, Debbie Myers, and Scott (Pam) Myers both of Calgary, AB; by his brother and sister-in-law Zoltan and Florence Lechner of Daventry, England; by his sisters, Mary, Borika, Justi all of Hungary; and by all of his friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Rita Lechner (nee Niedrygajlo), by his parents Jono and Julia Lechner (nee Rezfather), and by his one sister in Hungary. The family wishes to thank to all of the caring staff, volunteers and the Pastoral Team who provided their generous touch in caring for Jeno during his stay at the Father Lacombe Care Centre.
