Obituary of Franklin Samuel Gathercole

Franklin (Frank) Samuel Gathercole, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Frank leaves to mourn his loving wife of fifty-two years Terry; his son and daughter-in-law Lloyd and Linda; two daughters and one son-in-law Cathy and Terry, and Rhonda; his grandchildren Russell, Karlea and Chelsea. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim (Fay), and Don (Wilma); sisters Lil (Herb) and Evelyn (Renee); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his brothers George (Zoe), Tom, Bob (Georgie) and Les (Audrey); and his sisters Grace and Fran (Ron). Frank was born on April 28, 1927 in Kerrobert, SK to Walter and Grace Gathercole. He was a honourary member of the Probus Club of Calgary, acting Master of King Solomon Lodge in Cochrane, and Past District Deputy Grand Master. As a member of Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, he was Past Thrice Puissant Grand Master, Past Commander in Chief and earned his 33rd degree – Charter Member of the Springbank Lions Club and Springbank Heritage Club. Frank owned and operated the Bottrel General Store, Pre Pak Meats of Calgary Ltd. and Intertherm Services Ltd. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle, N.W.) on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
