Obituary of Ted Joachim Baer

It is with sadness that his family announces the sudden passing of Ted on Tuesday, December 25, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Born in Aussig, Czechoslovakia, Ted immigrated to Canada in 1954 with his wife Ilse and their two children. After a productive career in design engineering he retired with Ilse in Sidney, BC. For twenty years he was an active member of the Bethel Fellowship Baptist Church there, before he moved back to Calgary to be near his children. Ted will be remembered as a devout Christian and an adventurous, artistic, self-reliant, private man. He was predeceased by Ilse, his beloved wife of sixty years in 2004, and is survived by his brother Karl-Hans (Friedchen) of Koblenz, Germany; his son Horst (Keitha); his daughter Heidi (Alex) Graham of Calgary; three grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.
