Obituary of Loujia Ishak

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Loujia Ishak on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the age of 81 years. Loujia was born in Baghdad, Iraq in 1926 and immigrated to Canada in 1977. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife and a loving Nana. She leaves a big void in our lives and our hearts. All who knew her will remember her kindness, grace, faith, and compassion. Loujia was still living at home during her years of struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease and was well taken care of to the last minutes of her life. Loujia is survived by her daughter Nancy; sons, Sargon (Isabel), Zaia (Romy) and Francis (Brenda); and grandchildren, Daniel, Justin and Rebecca. She is also survived by her younger sister Wardia and by her many nephews and nieces and other Assyrian relatives. She was predeceased by her loving husband Fraidoon in October 1997. May she rest in eternal peace. A Chaldean Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James’ Catholic Church (5504 – 20th Street S.W.) on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 12:00 noon. Graveside Service to follow in the “Holy Family Cemetery” of Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
