Obituary of Charles Grant Colwill

Grant Colwill, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Grant was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 15, 1928. Grant lived in many different places throughout his life, starting in Toronto, then moving on to Calgary, Libya, Victoria and Whitehorse. On April 4, 1953 Grant married the love of his life Frances. Grant served in the infantry unit in the army and also worked as a architectural draftsman. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 264 and the Scaraboro United Church. Grant will be sadly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Colwill and Ruth-Anne Marley of Cochrane, AB and Earl Colwill and Wendy Sylvester of Sooke, BC. He will also be sadly missed by his five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Gabriel, Chole and Courtney Colwill, Christina and Alison Weeks, and Emma Colwill. He will also be missed by his sister Betty Ellis, her husband Bert and their family. Grant was predeceased by his wife Frances and daughter Dawna. A Celebration of Grant’s Life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion North Branch #264 (1910 Kensington Road N.W.) on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
