Obituary of Evelyn Maud Smith
Evelyn “Maud” Smith (nee Buchanan) of Calgary passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the age of 86 years.
Maud was born on July 29, 1921 in Shell Lake, SK. She loved to square dance and host family gatherings. Her family loved her handmade knitted crafts and never-ending supply of fresh cookies and home-baked bread. Always ready with a comforting hug, she was a loving influence in the lives of her children and grandchildren. A quintessential mother and proud grandmother, Maud taught us how to love and showed us how to care. It is time for her to be with Dad, happy for her, but for us – sad. All the goodbyes that we may want to say pass over our lips in silence today.
We love you Mom.
You will live forever in our hearts and memories.
Maud will be sadly missed by her seven children, Betty (Douglas) Dunbar, Beverley (Neal) Bynkoski, Brenda (Bruce) Stokes, Brent (Sharon) Smith, Bruce, Barry, and Blair Smith; twelve grandchildren, Audra and Kathy Dunbar, David, Dan and Jennifer Smith, Michael and Andrea Bynkoski, Amanda, Jamie and Quinlan Smith, Kerstin and Jeff Stokes; and numerous extended family relatives, neighbours, and friends. Maud was predeceased by her husband Robert William in 1975.
