Obituary of Martin William Fraser

Martin William Fraser of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the age of 63 years after a valiant struggle with lung cancer. Martin was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Calgary in 1970. In November 1988, he was involved in a serious accident crossing Macleod Trail and as a result of the accident, was confined to a wheelchair. From that day onward, Martin’s life changed dramatically. He took on the role of advocate and was instrumental in many changes to enhance the lives and improve accessibility for the handicapped. Martin had an uncanny sense of humour and a positive attitude. He is survived by his only brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Mary Fraser, their children, grandchildren, and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada, the United States, England and Scotland. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony Fraser in 1961 and Mary Cairney Fraser in 1970, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
