Obituary of Cyril Tranter

Cy Tranter of Calgary, beloved husband of Jean for sixty-five years, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Cy was born in Halkirk, AB, but grew up in Calgary. During WWII he served with the RCAF based in Calgary. Cy worked most of his career for Imperial Oil, retiring in 1981 and then moving to Calgary. Cy loved all sport but had a huge passion for golf. He was a past member of the Edmonton Golf and Country Club and a current member of the Highwood Golf Club. Cy’s integrity and morals were reflected through his love and dedication to his family and friends. Besides his loving wife, Jean, Cy is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law Gregg and Jean Tranter, Ken and Marge Tranter; and his five grandchildren Liam and his wife Gwen, Kris, Tara, Bryna and Dakota. A Celebration of Cy’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
