Obituary of George Edward Wilson

George Edward Wilson, beloved husband of Audree of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the age of 80 years. George was born on March 29, 1927 in Calgary, a proud native Calgarian. He attended Central High School. He was a lifetime member of the Lions Club International, and helped form the Lions Eye Bank. He owned and operated Weir & Wilson Plumbing Co. Ltd. He loved to work with his hands and there wasn’t anything that he could not fix. He was a Charter Member of the Bow Valley Good Sam as well as a member of the St. Mark’s and St. Philip’s Parish Anglican Church. George helped many charities and always volunteered to help make Calgary a better community. Besides his loving wife Audree, George is also survived by his daughters Susan (Dollard) O’Connor of Drayton Valley, AB, Nancy Wilson of Calgary, Carol Wilson (Dave Cocking) of Richmond, BC, and Patricia Irwin of Red Deer, AB; as well as his son Bill Wilson of Calgary. He will also be missed by his eight grandchildren Alan (Tanya), Ken (Dana), Sara, Amy (Adam), Christopher, Gregory, Stuart, and Brandon; and his two great-grandchildren, Jesse and Jennifer. George was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and his two sisters. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s and St. Philip’s Parish Anglican Church (1802 – 33 Avenue S.W.) on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
