Obituary of Bruce Edwin Reid

Bruce Edwin Reid of Calgary passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 7, 2007 at the age of 67 years. His battle with cancer was faced with great courage. Bruce was born in Carlyle, SK and worked most of his life in the Seismic Industry, beginning in 1960 as a driller. He sold Seismic Bits for Walker McDonald, owned and operated Gruner Bit and Reid Hole Cementing until his retirement. He was a member of the CSEG, the CAGC and the Carlyle Royal Canadian Legion. He had a passion for golf, the Arctic (where he lived and worked), children, dogs and barbecuing ribs. Bruce was a kind, gentle, humorous man, devoted to his family. He will be sadly and forever missed and will always be in our hearts. Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife Gerry; his son Del; his daughter Jody amd son-in-law Tom Latta; and his two granddaughters, the apples of his eye Madison and Kennedy Latta. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Diane and Ken Mykle, his brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Judy Reid; his two brothers-in-law Bill (Vivian), Calvin (Eileen); his sister-in-law June (Arnold); and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as Dawn Tink and family. Bruce was predeceased by his parents Clare and Bess Reid; and his mother-in-law Marion Grant. A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S “Park Memorial Chapel” (5008 Elbow Drive South West, Calgary) on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
