Ken was born on Sunday, November 13, 1921 in Gerild, Denmark. In 1928, Ken and his mother joined his father and brothers in Calgary. After serving four years in the RCAF in WWII, he joined his brothers and started Pedersen Bros Greenhouses Ltd. He spent thirty-six years operating the greenhouses, producing flowers and plants. The company became well known for top quality plants. After retirement, Ken kept his interest in gardening, helping friends and neighbours with their green thumb problems. He also became an excellent amateur painter.
