Obituary of Ervine Edwin Rutledge

Ed Rutledge, beloved husband of Alma of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the age of 85 years. Ed was born and raised in Doaktown, NB. Following his service in the RCAF during WWII, he graduated from the University of New Brunswick and came to Calgary in 1950 where he started his career as a geophysicist. Ed was a pioneer in Arctic exploration and a former member of CSEG and APEGGA. Besides his loving wife Alma, Ed is survived by his children Susan Blott, Deborah Marcano, M. Jayne Rutledge, Lisabeth (Chris) Long, and Roger Rutledge; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother Glenn as well as numerous relatives in Eastern Canada. Ed was predeceased by his daughter Shelley; son Steven; brothers Blake and Don; sister Margaret; and the mother of his children, Doris. It was Ed’s wish that we not have a Funeral Service but instead a Celebration of his Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion #264, 1910 Kensington Road NW, Calgary, AB on Friday, January 18, 2008 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm.
