Obituary of Shannon Lee Zakoc

Shannon Lee Zakoc (nee Nichol), beloved wife of John of Calgary passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the age of 37 years. Shannon was born in Calgary on January 2, 1970. She grew up in Nanaimo, BC, until she was sixteen and then she returned to Calgary. Shannon loved animals and her favourite time of the year was the Christmas season. A very artistic and creative person, Shannon loved to bake and do crafts. Battling poor health since she was very young, her courage and determination shone every day as she refused to be held back by life’s challenges. Shannon will be best remembered for her great sense of humour, willingness to try new things and her adventurous spirit. A fiercely independent woman, Shannon’s passion was her home, husband, and pets Cody and Bailey. Shannon will be lovingly remembered by her husband John; mother Carol Nichol of Nanaimo, BC; father Darcy Nichol of 100 Mile House, BC; brother Sean Nichol of Nanimo, BC; and nieces Kayla and Emily Shannon. She is also survived by her grandparents Gladys and Robert Muir of Airdrie, AB; special Aunt and Uncle Sharon and John Stayura; and the extended Zakoc, Muir, and Stayura families.
