Obituary of Donalda Gladys Angus

Donalda (Donna) Gladys Angus beloved wife of Roger, of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007 in the company of her family, at the age of 86 years. Besides her loving husband Roger, Donna is survived by her sons Donald (Patricia Carruthers) and Bill (Paula); daughter Keltie (Bernie Steenbergen); as well as grandchildren Tiffany Saxton (Rick Johnson), Anthony and Chris Steenbergen, Meredith Angus; her great-granddaughter Quinn Johnson; and beloved doggie, Aggi. Donna was predeceased this year, by her brother, Arnold Gillies and in 2002 by her son Craig. Donna was born on October 20, 1921 in the Rainy River District of northern Ontario and moved to northern Alberta (Chisholm Mills) when she was in high school. She met Roger on VJ Day and they enjoyed almost sixty-two years of marriage. Donna spent most of her long life here in Calgary and has been a member of the congregation of Northminster United Church since the mid 1950’s. Donna and Roger spent their early retirement years in Windermere, BC where Donna continued active volunteering, gardening, preserving, and entertaining friends and family. They returned to Calgary in 1992 to enjoy their grandchildren and continue hobbies. Donna was a courageous and loving woman. We will miss her forever. The family thanks the many treatment teams at the Foothills Medical Centre and the care and compassion of Dr. Rick Ward and his colleagues at Crowfoot Village Family Practice.
