Obituary of Maurice Harold Langpap

Maurice Langpap, beloved husband of Marion Langpap of Calgary, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Agapé Hospice in the early morning hours of Friday, November 30, 2007. Maurice was the son of American immigrant parents who came to homestead in Canada shortly after the turn of the twentieth century. He was born near Vegreville, AB, where he attended school and spent his youth. Maurice started his aviation career with Canadian Pacific Airlines in Vancouver and retired with Dome Petroleum in Calgary. He enjoyed a twenty-five year retirement where he was able to indulge in his love of wildlife, astronomy, the outdoors and the mountains, hiking or skiing weekly until Maurice was diagnosed with cancer on June 1, 2007. He faced his disease with dignity and let nature take its course, expressing his thanks to everyone who came to visit him during the past six months. Besides his wife Marion, Maurice is survived by his daughters Evelyn (Dave) and Carolyn (David), his sons Craig (Catherine) and Keith (Marilyn), his granddaughters Melissa (Jim) and Ella , grandson Michael (Marnie), four great grandchildren, brothers Ed and Lloyd, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Living Sprit United Church (629 – 49th Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
