Obituary of Queenie Malka Cohen

Queenie passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre in Calgary on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Queenie was an active member of Hadassah throughout her adult life, first in Sherbrooke, QC and later in Calgary, and always gave generously of her time and creativity. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Queenie was the loving mother to Barbara Echenberg of Hamilton, Joan Caplan and the late Maurice (Moe) Echenberg; proud grandmother to Alanna, David, and Stephen (Lara Sarbit) Caplan; great-grandmother to Sophie; and mother-in-law to Murray Caplan. She was the wife of the late Isadore (Issie) Echenberg and the late Dr. Maurice Cohen. Queenie was predeceased by her parents, Dorothy and Joseph Cress and her cherished sister, Marcia Cress. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, (North East Corner of Highway 22X & 37th Street S.W.,) on Friday, November 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Beth Tzedec Memorial Park (122 Shalom Way S.W.).
