Obituary of Emil Ivar Severson

Emil Ivar Severson of Calgary passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Emil was born on June 12, 1924 in West Kildonan, MB. He joined the Army during WWII and served overseas from 1943 to 1946. He was wounded during the war and upon his discharge, returned to Manitoba where he lived until 1967 when he moved to Calgary. Emil worked for Consolidated Concrete until his retirement. He enjoyed being a resident of Aspen Lodge, where he made many good friends. Emil was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No.1 for many years. Emil is survived by his daughter Valerie Jalving of Airdrie; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Carolyn Severson of Calgary; six grandchildren, Derek (Donna), Darren (Marina), Chantal, Maegan, Nicole, and Carly; and six great-grandchildren, Mason, Blake, Arianna, Kendra, Dylan, and Caleb. He is also survived by his sister Ruth (John) Antosh of Abbotsford, BC.
