Obituary of Caterina Marchese

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Caterina Marchese beloved wife of Nick Marchese of Calgary, on Sunday, November 18, 2007 at the age of 78. Caterina was born on May 30, 1929 in Albi Catanzaro, Italy. She came to Canada with her husband Nick and infant son Joe, her daughter Rosa was born later in Michel BC. The family moved to Calgary in 1962. Caterina loved to garden, she grew her own herbs, so she could make spices for her meals with family and friends. To Caterina family was everything. She was a strong, kind, gentle woman who even with her pain never complained. Caterina leaves behind to mourn her husband Nick of fifty three years, her son Joe, her daughter Rosa (Joe), her two grandchildren Melissa and Anthony, her sister Ida, her sister-in-law, brother-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews all from Italy, her sister-in-law and niece and nephew from Ontario. Caterina is also survived by numerous cousins in Edmonton, Calgary, and Italy. Caterina was predeceased by her brother and her parents. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) Today, November 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Thursday November 22, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
