Obituary of Robert Jarvis Pullar

Surrounded by his family, Bob Pullar passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the age of 75 years after a brief struggle with cancer. Bob was born and lived most of his life in Calgary. He had a long and distinguished career in the insurance industry. Bob served as Past Most Loyal and Member of the Honourable Order of the Blue Goose International. Over the years, he enjoyed all of the time spent with his family and friends at Jarvis Bay, Sylvan Lake. Bob served as the mayor of the Summer Village of Jarvis Bay for a number of years. With a passion for adventure, Bob and Phil spent their retirement years travelling the world to many exotic ports of call. He enjoyed the Calgary Golf and Country Club where he socialized with family and friends. Bob will always be remembered for his caring and giving nature. He donated time and energy to many worthy causes. One of his greatest pleasures was spreading Christmas joy to thousands of children. He leaves behind his adoring wife Philippa, his loving daughter and son-in-law Karen and John Brown of St. Albert, and his devoted son and daughter-in-law David and Brenda Pullar of Calgary. Bob was a dearly loved grandfather to Carley and Leah Brown, and Elise and Andrew Pullar. He will be greatly missed by his sister Betty Hollingshead of Edmonton, and by his nephews, nieces and friends. He was predeceased by his brother Bill Pullar and his parents Glenson and Connie Pullar. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m..
