Obituary of Joseph Mokos
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joe) Mokos on Tuesday, November 13, 2007after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe was born in Kecskemet, Hungary on December 7, 1926. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled with his wife Elizabeth in Calgary where he worked as a professional painter until his retirement.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Mokos of Calgary; his sisters-in-law Ilona (Lipot) Ban and Maria Peregovits; his nephew Tom (Sandy) Peregovits; god-daughter Elizabeth Szabo; and by their extended family, and many friends in Calgary. He is also survived in Hungary by his brother Ferenc Mokos, his sister Julianna Mokos and by many extended family and friends.
Memorial Mass in remembrance of Joe will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church (819 – 13th Avenue S.W.) on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
