Obituary of Carmen Helen Bowd
Mrs. Carmen Helen Bowd, of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 95 years.
Carmen was born the daughter of John and Lena Godreau on April 19, 1912 in Pincher Creek, AB. John came west from New Brunswick in 1885 and homesteaded in the Fort Macleod area. Carmen was one of nine children born into the Godreau family that flourished in the foothills town of Pincher Creek. Calgary was the place to be then and Carmen moved there in 1932. There, she met her husband to be, William Burgess Bowd from Alsask, SK. In Calgary they raised a family of three children; Carol Bowd White, William Godreau Bowd and Craig Anthony Bowd. Carmen was a loving, caring wife, mother and friend. She will be missed by all that knew her.
