Obituary of Helen Margaret Myer

Helen “Margaret” Myer, beloved wife of Frank John Myer of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Margaret was born and raised in Lacombe, AB. She moved to Edmonton to work in the aircraft repair industry during WWII. Following the war, Margaret met and married her best friend Frank and they moved to Calgary in 1948. Together they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 1997. Family was very important to Margaret and she cherished those relationships. Margaret’s outgoing nature and desire to help others led her to numerous volunteer endeavours in the church, school and community. She was a talented artist and musician, and enjoyed travelling, reading and playing bridge. Margaret will be deeply missed by daughter Susan and Richard and her son John and Jill. Nana will leave many great memories with her grandchildren, Marc (Sarah), Brett, Hayley and Todd. Margaret leaves her sister and life long friend Betty, as well as many family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1998 and infant daughter Patricia in 1948. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at Parkdale United Church, 2919 – 8th Avenue N.W. on Sunday, November 18, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Murray E. Laverty officiating.
